Holiday Shopping

Forget the mall and big-box store madness. If you want to do some holiday shopping that will really get you in the spirit, here’s a bit of what’s going on around here:

There’s a Holiday Market & Café going on at St John’s Episcopal Church, 5 Washington Avenue, Sandy Hook (10 AM to 5 PM). It features vendors from the summer organic farmers’ market, fresh-made mini donuts, and soup.

The Agee’s (Goatboy Soaps) are offering a Holiday Open House on Saturdays this season (Dec. 6, 13, & 20) from 10 AM to 3 PM at their farm.

McLaughlin Vineyards is having a Bubblies for the Holidays tasting tonight from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.

The Wholesome Wave Winter Market is open in Fairfield every Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM through April. The hot news is that Trinity Dairy (purveyors of pasteurized milk, eggnog, cream, and smooth and creamy yogurt) of Enfield is joining the market!

CitySeed Wooster Square Farmers Market is still open, every Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM until December 20. (It is then open every other Saturday from January 10 until May 2.)

Check CT DOAG’s listing of other open markets.

If you’re shopping for a tree this weekend, here’s a site to help you find  a Connecticut Christmastree Farm.

Enjoy!!
