Stone Wall Dairy

I’ve been drinking raw milk for almost two years, predominantly from Stone Wall Dairy and Foxfire Farm. My natural foods store carries both of these brands and they are both consistently good, with excellent cream lines. I hadn’t been to either of the farms since they’re both a bit of a hike and the food market is relatively nearby. On the way back home from a winery a few weeks ago, I saw a sign that read Raw Milk and turned on a dime into their driveway.

Imagine my surprise and delight to discover I’d happened upon Stone Wall Dairy. I’d read about their philosophy and how well they treat their animals and how clean they keep their facilities and now I was seeing it with my own eyes.

But the best was meeting the ladies, to whom I owe my daily milk (and often yogurt and when I feel ambitious, butter).

And plenty of cuteness to go around.

  1. Great pictures! I’ll have to make a trip over to Stone Wall Dairy and meet the cows 🙂 I too have heard wonderful things about that dairy, and even though I am “off” dairy products now, I would still like to speak to them and express my support.

  2. MC & Zoe: They are even better in person (more moo-ving–sorry couldn’t resist!) Seriously, I fell in love! I wanted to hug them and squeeze them and take them home!

The dairy is so well kept–so clean. It really is remarkable because that’s a lot of back-breaking work.

  3. wow, was visiting my sister in kent, and picked this up, it was cold enough out to drive home with some in the trunk, I’ve been looking for some, I go organic for milk (not the national producers but local that are offered in some specialty groceries in NYC) but this takes it to another level, wow, this is as their website says old school as when they dropped it off at your doors. Unfortunately most of the EVEN local organic milk shops ULTRA pasteurize their milk so you loose so much nutrition, I’ll be visiting my sister lots more.

  4. I too am a big fan and go there whenever I can. Can anyone tell me their website address? The milk is so sweet and yummy!

  5. My telephone (new dialing system glitches) wouldn’t connect me to you last month but if it won’t this month, you will see me in person! I have been searching for good raw milk. Cheers to you!

  6. My friend says that you deliver? Will your products be at the Norfolk Farmer’s Market when it opens at the end of May? Thanks

  7. Is Stone Wall Farm milk bottled in glass bottles? We manufacture the greatest carrier for glass bottle milk or wine. The carriers help the bottles from breaking even if dropped. Use our website to learn more or email me.

  8. Last time we visited your farmstore you were “out” of milk.

When is the best time to come and make milk purchases ?

What day of the week is best ?

    Thank you

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOU SOON.
