I flew solo this week…
At the Bethel Farmers Market, I got more plum tomatoes to maximize the canning operation. Matt Taylor was working his tayl off.
Macouns are in at Blue Jay Orchards in Bethel, CT! Last week I picked up this squash. It’s called a turban squash and it is edible.
I found a recipe for it over at Worldwide Gourmet.
Over at Holbrook’s Farm in Bethel, I got on the list for a local heritage turkey. They’re not John’s turkeys-he does this as a favor to a friend.
At Cherry Grove Farm in Newtown, I picked up some shallots and hot red peppers.
At New Morning, I got my fix of raw milk and other sundries, including navy beans still in the pod.
