They say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. From that we can extract that when life gives you limes, make Margaritas. But when life gives you snow, then what? Make sno-cones!
So, here’s a DDC bonus. The snow is local. I made the “syrup” from Jan Perkins’ (Stoneledge Farm, Southbury, CT) Berries Jubilee jam. I added a little water and microwaved it for about 10 seconds to loosen it up.
Note to self: let the “syrup” cool a bit more before pouring it over the snow.
“the snow is local” made me laugh. what a great DDC desesrt!
Yes Melissa, that’s why I made a Sno-cone and not Shave Ice! I spent some time in HI and LOVE Shave Ice (particularly Rainbow from Matsumoto’s in Haliewa), but sadly, it can’t be local.
You go girl. You’ll be able to make a lot more of these after tomorrow! That Margarita is sounding good too. The only sad thing to me about all this snow is that my cold frame is buried, and I can’t really even get to it anymore.
Hey Maureen! I could probably make some nice frozen margaritas as well! Perhaps strawberry, since I have a jar of local strawberry jam. Hmmm.
Sorry about your cold frame. Perhaps next year, you can install windshield wipers.
