This week’s local meal was: pan seared pork chops, from Ox Hollow Farm baked acorn squash, from Waldingfield Farm, mashed with butter (from Smyth’s Trinity in Enfield) and maple syrup (from Bluestone Farm), cinnamon from out there somewhere salad of oak leaf lettuce (from Two Guys from Woodbridge) and my Northeast Autumn salad dressing Ox [...]

This week’s local meal was bacon and eggs, both from Ox Hollow Farm. The toast came from a whole wheat loaf with rosemary and kalamata olives (not local, just from New Morning, the local natural foods store) slathered with butter from Smyth’s Trinity Farm in Enfield. Simple, yummy, and quick.

Slightly embarrassing and utterly lazy, my local meal of the week was curried lamb stew over rice. The stew was prepared and frozen by Sankow’s Beaver Brook with carrots, potatoes, eggplant, and an assortment of spices. The rice was from, umm (mumble, mumble) Carolina. Picture? The Wooster Square Market is open Saturday January 10 from 10 AM to 1 PM. The Wholesome Wave market in Fairfield is not open this week (because of the roof and the impending weather).
