Bean & Grain Salad (Gloria's)

  1. Cook the following (separately):

barley

c
brown rice

lb
lentils (tender, but firm)

  1. Mix together with:

can of chick peas, drained and rinsed

can of black beans, drained and rinsed

can of red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

plum tomatoes, diced
1

small red onion, chopped

Italian salad dressing

  1. Chill and serve.

Variations & Hints

You can cook the chick peas, black beans, and red kidney beans instead of using cans for enhanced flavor.

Soak dried beans for at least an hour to reduce the "bean effect."
