Toffee Bars

Yield: 36 bars.

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, beat at high speed:

butter (or margarine)
1/2
c
granulated sugar
1/4
t
salt

  1. Stir in:

all-purpose flour

  1. Press mixture into the bottom of an ungreased 13x9x3-inch baking pan.
  2. Bake 15 minutes at 350° or until the edges are lightly browned.

In the meanwhile, make the Sweet Stuff.

  1. Pour and spread the Sweet Stuff evenly over the baked crust.
  2. Bake for another 12-15 minutes or until top is dark golden.
  3. Sprinkle on top:

semi-sweet chocolate morsels

Wait 3 minutes and spread melted chocolate with a spatula.

  1. Chill for 5 to 10 minutes until chocolate is set (but not hard).
  2. Cut into squares or triangles.

Sweet Stuff

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat until bubbly:

  1. Stir constantly for 5 minutes allowing it to darken.
  2. Add:
