November 1 was the nineteenth week of our CSA (Waldingfield Farm). The pick-up point is no longer the Sandy Hook Organic Farmer’s Market since last week was the last week of that market. This week we picked up our share at the Wooster Square Market in New Haven.
We scored:
- purple potatoes
- leeks
- acorn squash
- butternut squash
- mustard greens
- broccoli
I also picked up
- baby carrots and jalapenos from Stone Gardens Farm
- Pleasant Sun and herbed cheese (without the herbs) from Sankow’s Beaver Brook
- tomatillos from Rose’s
And there was music!
Our farmer’s market has live music as well – I love it. This past weekend, they were playing some Chet Atkins, too cool. Your CSA share looks wonderful, those leeks are huge! And I love all winter squash, so of course, I am partial to those. Wahoo for local eating.
