This week’s One Local Summer Challenge meal washardly a meal, but it was delicious, satisfying, and nourishing!

Bruschetta:

  • tomatoes from Cherry Grove in Newtown
  • basil (mine) from the freezer (yes, last year’s cubes so I could make way for this year’s!)
  • shaved womanchego cheese from Cato Corner Farm (via McLaughlin Vineyards store)
  • bread from Wave Hill Breads pan toasted in olive oil and butter (OO and butter from out there)

This is probably too late to make the recap, but there it is!

  1. It looks like a meal to me! Fresh bread, tomato, basil…. satisfying and filling. Good ending to OLS… hard to believe its September already. I haven’t gotten my post up either – at this point, I might just have my last OLS spotlight meal this weekend….

  2. I can’t believe it’s over either. Just when the harvest bounty was coming in. I guess that would be like fishing in a barrel?

  3. I love the sound of that cheese! This photo made me want garlic for breakfast, an impulse I acted on immediately.

I cannot believe how much produce I got this week from the Gazys! Fishing in a barrel is right, tho’ now I need to find some okra recipes . . .
